Matevz Leskovsek
CEO
Breathing Labs
Slovania
Matevz Leskovsek (Biography)
Dr. Matevz Leskovsek has earned his PhD degree from University of Ljubljana in 2014 and has since been specializing in neuromodulation and neuroimmunology. He was one of the first to observe a causal link between stimuli perception and respiration suggesting that humans are more susceptible to memorizing new stimuli when there is less air in their lungs; i.e. after they have sufficiently exhaled by sighing, yawning, or vocally expressing what's on their mind; as soon as new inhalation occurs, another fight or flight response is initiated, and their susceptibility to new informationis reduced. The paper titled “Short-term cued visual stimuli recall in relation to breathing phase†was cited several times by Human Brain Mapping, the 2nd most respected journal in Neuroimaging category. Matevz Leskovsek is also a founder of Breathing Labs, a company producing tools for respiratory modulation of visual and auditory signals for behavioral management of asthma and some stress related disorders.
